Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd., holds its 6th Hino Smart Driver Contest 2024, which the HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’ s Trophy will be granted to the winner of the Contest. The aim of the Contest is to search for professional truck drivers who are qualified with great driving skills, knowledge in truck maintenance, and fuel-saving driving skills, and have awareness on the observance of traffic rules, environmental and social responsibilities, and, above all, concerns on the road safety. The contest is supported and sponsored by the Department of Land Transport, the Land Transport Federation of Thailand, transport associations throughout the country, and business partners. This year, many drivers throughout Thailand are interested in applying and joining the contest.
The 6th Hino Smart Driver Contest 2024 was held from September 27-29, 2024. The opening ceremony of the Contest was honored to have important people attend, namely Mr. Titipat Thaijongrak, Director, Land Transport Safety Bureau at Department of Land Transport, Thongyoo Khongkhan, Ph.D., Chairman of the Land Transport Federation of Thailand, and Ms. Yumiko Kawamura, President of Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Ltd. They all presided over the opening ceremony of the contest. The President of Hino Motors Sales (Thailand) Limited stated that the main objectives of the contest were to open opportunities to both male and female truck drivers to join the contest, to produce qualified truck drivers, to set up, and leverage the transport standards in Thailand. Apart from having good-quality trucks, and cutting-edge devices and technologies for supporting the driving, the most important thing to be considered is the driving skill of a driver; this is the main underlying reason for Hino to initiate the Contest. Moreover, Hino has many activities to be implemented for developing the field of transport in Thailand for continual and sustainable growth.
This year, The Hino Smart Driver Contest 2024 has divided contestants for 2 truck categories: the 4-wheel-loading truck, and the 10-wheel-semi-trailer loading truck. The contest focused on the authentic use of drivers in a daily life; drivers had to pass the competitive stations, developed in compliance with the driving course by the Department of Land Transport. Hino believes that all contestants will be improved in terms of driving awareness and social responsibilities toward the society and other companions on the road.
This contest is one of many great activities by Hino. We are ready to cooperate with all sectors to create advantages for the country’s transport. All relevant sectors will grow with us, and develop together, “To deliver happiness to people with smiles”. Hino is prompt and ready to build up success and create growth for the business sector.
