Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) would like to clarify and refute misleading information circulated by certain Cambodian media outlets on 18 December 2025.
The reports alleged that the Royal Cambodian Embassy in France had issued a travel warning concerning transit through Bangkok airports, claiming that European passengers transiting via Bangkok were subjected to inappropriate and excessively strict screening procedures. These claims included prolonged questioning prior to boarding, unreasonable requests for proof of financial status, detailed scrutiny of accommodation bookings in Cambodia, and incidents of missing passenger baggage. AOT firmly confirms that all such allegations are entirely untrue.
AOT remains fully committed to delivering high-quality passenger services, with a strong emphasis on facilitation alongside security, in full compliance with international standards. Baggage Reconciliation System (BRS) for comprehensive baggage tracking and passenger complaint-handling mechanisms are in place across AOT airports to ensure that passengers receive a smooth, fair, and efficient travel experience. As the Gateway to Thailand, AOT continuously strives to uphold service excellence and passenger confidence, while working closely with relevant domestic and international authorities to promote accurate understanding and strengthen global trust in Thailand’s air transport system.
Furthermore, AOT reiterates that all six AOT operated airports strictly adhere to established regulations and standard operating procedures governing passenger and baggage security for departing flights. These measures are subject to international aviation oversight and fully comply with the requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), covering both Safety and Security aspects. Such compliance reflects AOT’s unwavering commitment to internationally recognized aviation standards and to safeguarding the interests of all passengers.
